15. The Dropper - Medeski, Martin and Wood

The only album on my list not to contain words was released in the year 2000. Kind of the end of my jam band phase, and this album was the perfect conclusion.

Not only did it freak out many of the new friends I was making at the time, but it was so intentionally unjammy in a way Nirvana was unglammy.

Jazz is always the truest form of alternative music, and this was a great alternative to jazz. Not too many records will ever be made like this.
